One brand, one shelf, and a range wide enough to fill a mixed pallet on its own.
John West is the canned-fish brand most import lists start with, and it is one of the easiest ranges on a container to plan around. We carry 50+ live lines across tuna, salmon, sardines, mackerel, herring and anchovies.
Tuna is the bulk of it — 30+ lines in brine, sunflower oil and spring water, as chunks, steaks and flakes, in single tins, four-packs and the 110g fridge pots. The Infusions and the Lunch on the Go pots sit alongside them for the food-to-go fixture.
Salmon covers pink salmon, wild red salmon, fillets and fridge pots. Sardines cover the rest of the tinned-fish shelf in tomato, oil and brine, with mackerel fillets, kippers and anchovy fillets behind them.
Canned fish is ambient, so unlike a chilled or frozen line it loads with everything else on the order — no separate container, no temperature to book around.
It is also dense. A case of tins runs at roughly 600kg per cubic metre, well above the point at which a 40ft container weighs out rather than cubes out, which makes this range the ballast on a mixed load: a few pallets of tinned fish are what let several pallets of crisps or confectionery travel on the same booking without wasting the payload. If you are building a container that keeps coming out light, this is the shelf to add to.
Units per case, cases per layer and cases per pallet are published on every line, along with the pack size and both barcodes, so the load can be worked out before a price is agreed. Minimum shelf life is on each line as well — on a few of them it is our own estimate rather than a supplier guarantee, and the line says which.
You do not need an account to get a price. Send us the list and we come back with a full quotation, usually the same working day. With a trade account, case prices are on screen the second you sign in.
1 brand across 50+ live lines — John West. Every one is bought directly from the manufacturer, and the list below is the range we hold.
John West runs from 80g to 528g here. Case, layer and pallet counts sit on every line in the shop, so you can size an order before you ask us to price it.
John West ships from the UK and consolidates with anything else in the catalogue — mix brands and categories across one order, one invoice and one container, to more than 60 markets. Chocolate and anything heat-sensitive is worth a conversation about reefer before you fix the volume.

Yes. It is ambient, so it loads in the same container as confectionery, biscuits, drinks and grocery. Nothing here needs chilling or freezing.
That is exactly what it is for. Tinned fish is dense enough to be used as ballast, so adding a few pallets lets a load of lighter goods use the payload it is already paying for.
The minimum shelf life is published on each line. On most of the range it is a figure the supplier guarantees; on a few lines it is our own estimate, and the line is marked so you can tell the difference.
