LU has been baking in France since 1846 and Le Petit is the range the name is built on — a short, recognisably French biscuit line that sells on provenance rather than on novelty. We carry Petit Beurre in salted butter, Le Petit Biscotte, Le Petit Chocolat in milk and dark, and Le Petit Citron soft bake.
Two flavours are new and they are the reason this page exists now. Le Petit Cookie is a 184g soft-baked cookie with chunky rich chocolate chips, and it is the line most likely to recruit a shopper who does not already buy French biscuits. Le Petit Biscotte Cinnamon is a 200g crunchy cinnamon and brown sugar biscuit, and it is the more interesting of the two commercially: cinnamon and brown sugar is a flavour profile that travels a great deal better into the Gulf and North Africa than a plain butter biscuit does, and it lands close enough to a speculoos to be familiar without competing directly with one.
The whole range carries no preservatives, and the packs state it on the front. For an importer selling into a market where clean label is a live conversation that is a claim on the pack rather than a claim in a sales sheet, which is worth more, and it is printed in English on the export packs we hold.
Practically, this is a straightforward range to ship. Everything is ambient, dry and long-dated, the only chocolate is chips baked into the cookie rather than a coating, so there is no melt risk to plan around on a hot route. The cartons are light and regular and the range mixes easily with the rest of a biscuit pallet. What it does need is shelf presence: Le Petit is a range that reads as a set, and a market carrying one facing of Petit Beurre on its own tends to sell far less of it than one carrying the butter, the chocolate and the new cookie together.
